Regardless of the current weather conditions, we all dream about the long days of warm weather and, most probably, planning a vacation is on the minds of many. Since everything is about technology nowadays, we thought you might appreciate a couple of suggestions regarding apps that could make your holiday even more fun and pleasant. Since most of us already use Google Maps, Booking.com, Airbnb or Waze, we focused on some apps that could make your trip easier to plan and that helps you improve your experiences.

Hopper

When planning your next trip, you probably need to book flights and accommodations. To make this step easier, you can try “Hopper“, an app that doesn’t just let you book flights and accommodations from your phone, but it tells you when is the best time to buy.

You just need to search for a trip by tapping dates on the color-coded calendar, then get Hopper’s prediction about when your flight or hotel will be cheapest. The app event recommends whether you should wait or book, and if it recommends waiting, it will send you notifications the instant prices drop.

As a plus, Hopper consistently performs with 95% accuracy and it`s an accredited travel agency, which means there are real humans behind Hopper who can help you with your booking.

PackPoint

So, you booked a ticket, found a room and you`re enthusiastic to enjoy your vacation. But you still need to take and pack everything you need. PackPoint promises to be a smart packing list app that will organize what you need to pack based on length of travel, weather at your destination and any activities planned during your trip. PackPoint builds your custom packing list accordingly so you have everything you need for your travels.

WiFox

You are all set now. Flight tickets, accommodation, luggage, everything is checked. But when you get to the airport, you might enjoy another app. WiFox is a map of airport wifi and lounge passwords from around the world that’s updated in real-time with information verified from other travelers, pilots, and reliable sources.

Mapify – Your Travel Companion

Once you arrive at your destination, you can find useful information through a couple of apps. For instance, Mapify aims to be your place to explore the world, share your experiences, meet amazing people and plan your next adventure. Thanks to Mapify, you can be inspired by the world’s globetrotters sharing their secret spots with you, or get recommendations based on what you love about travel.

You can also build trips on Mapify by sharing the spots you discovered and tell your own stories.

Detour

Another interesting app is Detour, which helps you explore the world’s most fascinating places with the people who know them best. Detour is a city-centric walking tour app that offers immersive audio tours. Its goal is to offer tourists and locals alike a way to discover a city’s hidden gems, like its off-the-beaten-track shops and alleys — things other tours would overlook. The audio tours are currently available in big cities such as Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Berlin and so on.

ViewRanger

If you are more of an outdoor enthusiast, you could benefit from a useful application for any adventurer. ViewRanger is a digital guide to the outdoors with downloadable trail guides, outdoor maps, and powerful GPS navigation features. Moreover, ViewRanger Skyline lets you explore the outdoors with augmented reality. You can use your device’s camera to identify more than 9 million peaks, lakes, and more.

Through ViewRanger, you can download and follow route guides by major outdoor brands, tourism agencies, national parks, travel writers, and our global community of explorers. You can also record tracks and view live stats in the app – such as time, distance, elevation, and speed. One of the key features of this app is that you don`t need phone signal to use it. You can simply save maps and route guides to your device before you leave home.

Google Trips

Last but not least, we recommend Google Trips. If you rely on Google products, such as Maps, Calendar, and Gmail, this app can collate smart information from those other services into a little travel pack. The app can help you focus on sites you want to visit while you travel to a specific place and can also offer suggestions, information, and photos.

Have fun with your apps!

If you are using any other application that might make our summer more enjoyable, we would be more than happy to try it out. Until then, we, the AXON Soft team, wish you all awesome adventures.
