“It has been a very interesting and beautiful experience, during which I learned how to work in a team. I’m also glad that I learned about Scrum, and how to work with sprints and tickets.

I learned a lot of new things that will definitely be useful in the future!”

Iasmina S., intern 2022 AXON Soft Summer Internship

This is exactly why we are open to internships and put a lot of effort and resources into it. We create the right framework for students and entry level software developers to learn and develop skills they need to grow a career in the programming world.

However, an internship is not just another thing to put on a checklist. You need to think it through and choose wisely what you will get out of the 6 weeks (more or less) of your time. The outcome is only as good as the input. Surely, the company matters and the mentors most of all, but it is YOUR motivation that gets everything going. So yes, an internship is worth the amount of work you put into it. Here’s what our interns experienced in 2022, within AXON Soft Summer Internship:

“These 6 weeks were a time when I gained a lot of new knowledge and met wonderful people, both mentors and fellow interns. What I liked the most was the idea of the project and the fact that this application will actually be used by employees and that’s why I loved working on it. The mentors were very helpful and explained the new concepts in a very accessible and comprehensible way with real life analogies. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, demanding at times, but worth all the effort in the end.”

Alexandra B.

“This internship gave me the opportunity to work on a real project and in a team, which, for me, meant acquiring new knowledge and developing communication and teamwork skills. One thing that I particularly liked was the involvement of the mentors and how well they organized the project.”

Claudia A.

“During this Internship I managed to accumulate a series of skills both related to coding and communication & development in a team. The project carried out in these weeks was an interesting, challenging one.”

Dan B.

“The activities during the internship helped me to develop and practice skills that are based on knowledge acquired in the faculty. Regarding the collaboration with the mentor and the team, this was based on permanent communication. I managed to gather information about how an organization works and met people with interesting visions, which made me consider the possibility of being part of such an organization.”

Ilinca A.

“I really enjoyed this! Although, I had some days where I was very exhausted from so much new information accumulated and so many bugs and conflicts resolved and/or unresolved, I can say that the work was worth it, and today, my mindset regarding the organization of tasks and time management is much changed for the better. I know that, for me, the road to becoming a successful programmer is long and arduous, but I am very excited that I took the first step with you!”

Mădălin C.

“I liked the structure of this internship, that before we started working, we had time dedicated to the course for the technology used. I learned to work in a team, and the fact that all the interns had to work on a project together, separate from the company’s projects, made me feel at ease and deepened each step of the project’s development. The mentors were always helpful, calm and friendly. I’m glad that every time I had a concern or error, he explained what and why and stayed with me on call/chat until we solved the problem. I feel that in these 6 weeks I learned a lot, both about the technology I worked with and about teamwork in a company.”

Maria P.

“I learned many technologies, good practices and helped me better understand what is really important in making a software application. We had the best team of mentors who helped us with any problem or ineptitude we had, I saw in them some strong people, willing to share with us as much knowledge as they had accumulated from their experience as programmers.”

Raluca T.

“I have accumulated a large amount of new knowledge in a relatively short time and in a pleasant working environment. I also had some super cool mentors, who helped me whenever I needed and from whom I learned about this world of programming. I had the greatest satisfaction when the project we were all working on in the team took shape and started to work.”

Roxana A.

“During this internship, I learned many useful and interesting web technologies, with which I am interested in working in the future.”

Alessandro S.

“I had the opportunity to work closely with professionals and learn more about the technologies used in industry. Also, it was the first time I worked in such a big team and I enjoyed it a lot.”

Paul M.

Well done to all teams! Looking forward to meet the next students, for a new internship in the future.
