AXON Soft successfully redesigns and redevelops a financial application that calculates payment fees
Our client is a financial institution ranked in top 5 banks in Romania and a leading corporate and investment bank in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). It has about 50 000 employees serving over 16 million customers through more than 2 000 business offices. Its portfolio comprises a wide range of financial products and services to SMEs, retail and corporate segment.
The objective was to design and redevelop an existing application for the successful migration from the stored procedure to Java and web services to meet the current needs and requirements.
One of the main challenges was the paradigm of our client’s business model that was changing. There was a need for a new approach in designing a well-defined solution that meets the needs of all the business lines that would use the final product. The former application didn’t provide the possibility of parameterization at the level of banking packages with different transactional pricing for which the clients enrolled. Therefore, redeveloping the application was a priority.
With our client’s goal in mind, we started the collaboration in 2014 with a mixed team of 2 software developers, one Q&A engineer and a business analyst on our client’s side and a software architect from AXON Soft. The distributed team provided a detailed audit and analyzed the former business model offering an application redesign solution that fits their new business model. In just one and a half year, the IT experts managed to successfully deliver a back-end module responsible for calculating fees on payments made through different transactional channels.
Through our agile approach, we delivered a robust and ergonomic solution aligned with their new business model. Our efforts provided enhanced efficiency while the time saved is used making strategic and informed decisions.
